Web-Based Treatment for Combat-Related PTSD
Study aims to make top therapy more accessible;
open to service members and veterans at no cost
Looking for help with posttraumatic stress since a post-9/11 deployment? Need easy access to treatment?
The STRONG STAR Consortium is offering treatment without charge to military service members and veterans through an open trial with a Web-based version of Prolonged Exposure therapy (Web-PE). For the study, researchers have taken PE, one of the top treatments for PTSD in civilians and veterans, and adapted it to an Internet-based, therapist-facilitated program with sessions that can be completed at home and at patients’ convenience over the course of eight weeks.
